Increase of patent applications from Icelandic parties

The number of patent applications from domestic parties increased by 29% during the first four months of this year compared to the same period in 2008. Although the numbers are not big, this is very good news.

The applications are of various kinds and there is no special class of inventions that stands out. During this same period, 20 PCT applications owned by Icelandic parties have been published, of which three are based on an Icelandic priority.
